Grief Counseling

Sharing grief and sorrow is one of the most precious and profound experiences in our lives. As people are grieving the death of a loved one, they require help from competent counselors. We pastoral caregivers at St. Michael's can assist you during such difficult times. We offer you opportunities to discuss your experiences with us.

Grief counseling aims to encourage people to admit their grief with all the intense feelings accompanying it, and to find their own paths through grief. Mourners remodel their changed everyday life. They are searching for answers to the big "Why" and come to terms with the meaning of their own continuing lives. Mourners need space, time and permission to express their grief.

In our services at St. Michael's, especially at the annual commemoration of the dead on All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, we include your intentions into our prayers and celebrate Holy Mass with your particular intention in mind.

Usually the chaplain of a deceased person's last place of residence is responsible for the ecclesiastical funeral. However, in special cases and if there is a personal connection to St. Michael's, it is possible to celebrate the Requiem, i. e. the Mass in special remembrance of the deceased, at St. Michael's.

Conversation / Faith Talk

You are experiencing very concrete worries? Or maybe a vague feeling of anxiety? You are struggling with a problem? Or you are feeling well? You want to express your happiness about an achievement or success? You have experienced deep joy?

Spiritual Direction

For Jesuits, "spiritual direction" is an important element of living in an active relation to God. It is an offer for women and men who want to live in a more conscious and fulfilled way, who want to make "more" of their lives. Many people yearn to see God's traces in their own lives more clearly and to follow their tracks.
